Since it was established, the DAIICHIKOSHO Group has continued to expand by delivering enjoyment and entertainment to society, mainly through the medium of karaoke.
Conditions in the karaoke market have changed dramatically along with society over the years. The development of karaoke machines with echo effects allowed people to sing into a microphone; the development of our karaoke machine remote control devices with an integrated digital music guide created opportunities for them to come across a wide range of songs; and karaoke boxes created more opportunities for people of all ages to express themselves through music. Against that backdrop of change, the DAIICHIKOSHO Group helped establish karaoke as a culture in its own right by providing places for people to meet up and deepen relationships by dining and talking together, as well as sing.
One of the DAIICHIKOSHO Group’s strengths that has flowed through each generation of employees is the source of our growth, in the desire of our employees to please people and help them have a great time by exploring the joy of singing and places to sing. If just one person is moved to sing just one more song, we have fulfilled our purpose as expressed in our corporate motto, “More music to society, more service to society.”
Today, we are seeing even greater need for places that offer fulfillment and encourage communication to counter issues associated with modern living, such as rising stress levels, health concerns associated with aging, and the demand for local community spaces. We continue to work with national government bodies, universities and companies on research into the health benefits of singing, which can help reduce stress levels and prevent the onset of dementia. Through our core business, we are also offering new value to society while also tackling issues faced by society, by offering our facilities and locations as workspaces or disaster shelters.
Making our karaoke products and services more interesting means bringing joy to our business partners’ store environments. The parking business that developed from our karaoke operations brings convenience to a motorized society, and our restaurant business that has grown alongside our karaoke box business provides people with spaces for communication.
We, the DAIICHIKOSHO Group, will continue to grow as an enterprise that contributes to society by pursuing the possibilities of the joy of singing and places to sing.

The DAIICHIKOSHO Group has expanded its original business from an initial focus on the commercial karaoke business into related areas such as karaoke rooms, restaurants and music, acting in accordance with our management’s basic policies of promoting music culture through karaoke and providing fun places to communicate, that are based on our corporate motto, “More music to society, more service to society.”

The DAIICHIKOSHO Group’s goal is to enhance music making and the immersiveness of visuals to make our products and services easy to understand and easy to use. We are pursuing precision scoring and various other features that add enjoyment to singing, in order to bring" the joy of singing" to as many people as possible.

Creating the best environments for everyone
The DAIICHIKOSHO Group currently has 665 locations in our nationwide chain, comprising 506 karaoke rooms and 159 restaurants (as of March 31, 2024). BIG ECHO, which celebrated its 35th anniversary last year, has worked to provide facilities for an ideal singing environment, a comfortable ambience, and other features that create high-quality karaoke rooms that offer fun experiences to as many customers as possible.
We will also continue to provide people from all walks of life with places to sing, by coordinating with various industries and facilities to create new singing spaces, while also contributing to the improvement of existing singing environments through our products and services in our business partners’ stores.

Exploring the potential of the joy of singing to improve customer QOL
Karaoke is ostensibly an industry based on memories – when our customers sing songs from each era in their past, it brings back memories. It is also an industry based on health and wellbeing – when our customers sing songs, it helps to relieve stress and balance their mind and body.
Exploring the joy of singing and places to sing contributes to improving people’s QOL. Our business of pursuing possibilities is helping to solve issues faced by Japan such as its super-aging society and changing work practices, and tackles global issues set out by the United Nations in its Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
The DAIICHIKOSHO Group will not only continue to bring joy to all people, but will also create new value in various areas such as relieving stress, improving health, preventing the need for nursing care, supporting education, and shaping communication by exploring possibilities of its core business of song and music, developing new markets and solving social issues.
