Joining Toyota Woven City as a New Inventor Exploring the Next generation Karaoke Through a Pilot program of “Selection-less Karaoke”

DAIICHIKOSHO CO., LTD. (hereinafter "the Company") has joined Toyota Woven City- a "living laboratory" currently under development in Susono City, Shizuoka Prefecture by Toyota Motor Corporation and Woven by Toyota, Inc.- as an inventor*1. The Company will launch pilot programs to realize the potential of "the power of song and music" in various ways, leveraging the advanced technologies available at Toyota Woven City.

For many years, the Company has been dedicated to promoting the culture of singing through karaoke. Karaoke has become deeply entrenched in our daily lives, serving as a communication tool that deepens mutual understanding across generations and diverse backgrounds. Furthermore, singing is widely recognized for its contribution to physical and mental well-being -such as providing stress relief and activating cognitive functions- expanding its role beyond entertainment into the vital fields of health and wellness.
Against this background, the Company are pursuing new possibilities for karaoke through our pilot program at Toyota Woven City where anyone can sing freely, anytime and anywhere, you want without restraint.

As the first phase of this initiative, the company are launching a pilot program for ‘Selection-less' karaoke.
Creating a unique space free from karaoke request terminals such as the 'Denmoku’, aiming to explore new user experiences and interfaces that go beyond conventional manual song selection.
Objective is to accumulate the technical insights necessary to automatically generate the underlying playlist for this 'Selection-less' karaoke system.
Following the validation of these playlists, the company aim to realize a new form of karaoke where users can enjoy singing intuitively and spontaneously, embracing the flexibility of a ‘Selection-less' experience.
Furthermore, to make singing even more accessible, the company are also preparing a pilot program using mobility platforms to explore the future of karaoke within in-vehicle spaces.

Toyota Woven City is a living laboratory where residents and visitors -collectively known as ‘Weavers’*2 -actively test and refine new products and services created by inventors. Providing an ideal environment for accelerating development and fostering innovation, this setting allows us to observe how our offerings are integrated into everyday life.
Through analysis of verification data and feedback provided by the Weavers, we will continue to challenge ourselves to create new value and elevate the singing experience.

By creating an environment for people to sing anytime, anywhere, the company are dedicated to fostering mental and physical well-being and supporting a vibrant, inclusive society where everyone can thrive.

*1 Companies and individuals who develop and demonstrate their own products and services within Woven City.
*2 Residents, employees, and visitors who participate in various pilot projects and testing initiatives at Woven City.
